Five (5) weeks and counting until we move from the big city to the country. For years now, we've been reading about all things country--gardening, building, greenhouses, food storage, preserving, etc. Pretty soon, we will have to put all of that education into action. We are so excited, we are restless. There are so many things to do!
First of all, we need a place to live! We have started sketching, brainstorming and chatting about what we want in a home. Now it's time to contact a few local architects to put together some plans so we can really see our vision on paper. Since we will be spending most of our free time outside growing our food, we don't want to have to worry about paying for, maintaining and cleaning a giant house.

Modern. Eco-friendly. Cozy. Practical. Beautiful. Home.
These are the words that we hope will describe our new house. Since none of us have built a house before, I'm sure this will be a learning experience. I think I'm most excited about the fact that I won't be moving any time soon. I was an Army-brat, so I was used to moving every three years or less. And even as an adult, Josh and I haven't even lived in the same apartment for longer than two years, having moved to three different states in the seven years we have known each other. It's comforting to know that the home we are building is our "Forever Home".
Until we can get up to North Carolina, we will continue to plan, dream...and pack!
