Paired with a nice Merlot and set to the nostalgic romance of Madeleine Peyroux and Billie Holliday. I hope it turns out as delicious as it sounds! If not, we will have enjoyed the time we spend cooking it!
Meals aren't the only preparations we are making. We are busy packing for our big move next weekend. Time has passed so quickly! We are excited, but it is a bittersweet move this time around. We have been in Miami for 3 years and have met some wonderful people who have become dear friends. Miami was such a culture-shock, especially moving from snowy Minnesota. But we have come to love the idiosyncrasies that this vibrant community can bring. We have enjoyed the food, dancing, beach and year-round sunny activities. I think we will miss Miami most in February when our little farm is covered in blankets of snow!
We are looking forward to having seasons. Oh, how I have missed the bright fiery colors of fall and the crunch of leaves underfoot while you walk through the forest to sit at a campfire with friends and toast with a steamy cup of hot chocolate! It will be nice to be an easy driving distance to both of our families as well. Plus there are so many outdoor activities that we have missed--camping, hiking, mountain biking, cave exploring, waterfall gazing, skiing and sledding--So many things to look forward to!
We are anxious to start designing and building our house. Josh's brother, Chris, is getting back from his European escape at the same time we are rolling in town with all our furniture in-tow, so we will start the home process soon.
We have been blessed beyond measure this year. We can't wait to see what amazing things God has in store for us in the years to come.
Like this little blossoming rose bud, our farm will start to grow more beautiful before our very eyes. I can see the vision of what it will be, but not without time, patience, and a little tender-loving-care.
"This bud of love, by summer's ripening breath,
May prove a beauteous flower
when next we meet."
~Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, 2.2.121-2
